Specialist Logistics Support We have a wide range of experience related to the provision of Logistics Support within Defence and Aerospace. We have significant knowledge concerning the operations of warehouses, inventory and provisioning systems and logistic support policy including the transfer of logistics support responsibilities from the MOD to civilian companies. We have been involved with the management of technical stores/warehouses and also bulk fuels and gases. Such management included all aspects of receipting stock, storage (including the design of new warehousing), stock accounting and the issuing of items to the End-Users. In addition to such day-to-day management, we have also undertaken business process reviews to improve operations of such stores and the routine auditing through stock checks. We have also been heavily involved with the business analysis and development of replacement stock and provisioning IT systems (see Project Management). These systems have been introduced to improve the MOD's Warehousing, Transportation, Distribution and Provisioning activities. More recently, we have provided support to the Chinook Integrated Project Team within the Defence Logistics Organisation. We have conducted Inventory Analysis of 16,000 line items comprised of repairable and consumable items in order to ensure that the range and quantity of items procured and stored are sufficient to support increased levels of Chinook operations and to enable the successful transfer of logistics support from the MOD to The Boeing Company. Other tasks included supporting a mixed MOD and civilian industry team to conduct a worldwide Inventory Audit and the development of a complete Business Process Review to ensure a smooth transition. |
